LIBERA -- "BE STILL MY SOUL"

Be still my soul - the Lord is on thy side;
bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
leave to thy God to order and provide;
in every change - he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul - thy best thy heavenly Friend
through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still my soul - when dearest friends depart,
and all is darkened in the vale of tears,
then shalt thou better know his love - his heart,
who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul - the waves and winds still know
his voice who ruled them - while he dwelt below.

Be still my soul the hour is hastening on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment - grief and fear are gone,
sorrow forgot - love's purest joys restored,.
Be still my soul - when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed - we shall meet at last.

Dan,

I appreciate the tape AND the words. I imagine their "sound" to be heavenly.

We watched live the talk with the youth and seminarians yesterday. So inspiring. And all the MSM can cover in their reports is the news of the pope in regard to clergy abuse. Just the negative, never the positive. What are they afraid of?

Thanks for ALL your coverage.

Kudos from us, too, Dan, for posting the all the Pope's addresses on this trip. We listened to several, but it is great to read the text as well.

What is really heavenly is to read his addresses while listening to Libera in the background---an experience only possible at Sunlit Uplands!

Thank you, friends, for your generous comments. The Holy Father's talks are those of a professor who dearly loves his students. They distill so much in a beautiful, clear and loving way. We have been abundantly blessed with extraordinary Vicars of Christ.
