New Study Shows Homeschoolers Succeed in College

Last week, a study titled Exploring Academic Outcomes of Homeschooled Students was released and showed that homeschooled college students significantly outperformed their peers. "This is great news for the homeschool community," said Michael Smith, president of the Home School Legal Defense Association. "Once again, homeschooling parents have shown they are more than capable of preparing their children for all aspects of life," he added.

The study covered homeschoolers from 2004-2009 at a mid-sized college in the upper Midwest. Among the major findings:

Homeschooled students earned a higher first-year GPA (3.41) when compared to other freshman (3.12).

Homeschooled students earned a higher fourth-year GPA (3.46) when compared to other freshman who completed their fourth year (3.16).

Homeschooled students achieved a higher graduation rate (66.7 percent) when compared to the overall student population (57.5 percent).

Other research has shown that parents spend on average $500 per child, per year to homeschool. In comparison, the average public school spends over $10,000 per child, per year. Homeschooling is proving itself everyday to be a credible and cost-effective method of educating children.

Other examples of homeschool success can also be found in the college preparatory area. Patrick Henry College Preparatory Academy, which conducts online AP* classes with a Christian worldview, released its results today for the May 2010 United States Government and Politics AP* Exam.

Reported scores for homeschooled students who studied with PHC Prep averaged "3.75" on a scale of 1-5 (with 3 being a pass). Last year's national average for the same exam was "2.78."

As millions of children go back to school in the next few weeks, it's important to remember the hundreds of thousands of homeschool families (representing over 2 million homeschooled children) who are achieving amazing results on a fraction of the budget.

BREAKING: GREENVILLE COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY VOTES OVERWHELMINGLY TO REBUKE LINDSEY GRAHAM

The Greenville County Republican Party voted tonight to "rebuke" Senator Lindsey Graham "for his cooperation and support of President Obama and the Democrat Party's liberal agenda for the United States."

The county committee further resolved that he "will no longer be invited to attend or participate in meetings sponsored by the Greenville Republican Party."

The resolution, passed by a near unanimous vote, cites Graham's votes in favor of TARP and its resulting debt and expansion of the federal government; his support for two nominees to the U. S. Supreme Court; his support for amnesty for illegal aliens, and his continuing work for "comprehensive immigration reform." The resolution states that Graham has "abandoned the Republican Platform" and its provisions in support of:

• limited government
• capitalism
• the free market system
• the original intent of the Constitution

The resolution adds that Graham has "repeatedly demonstrated contempt and arrogance toward those members of the Republican Party who support these core Republican beliefs.

The committee has previously censured Graham for supporting amnesty for illegal aliens.

National and State Tea Parties Endorse J. D. Hayworth for U. S. Senate

A coalition of Arizona state-wide, Tea Party and like-minded Conservative groups came together today, to announce they are all endorsing JD Hayworth to be the next United States Senator from Arizona.

Lee Earle, member of the conservative, AZ2010 Project group stated, "J.D. has listened to more Arizona citizen's than any other candidate."

Arizona's state Tea Party Patriots coordinator, Pam Stevenson stated, "There is no question of J.D.'s conservative values. The American Conservative Union gave him a life-time rating of 97.6%."

In part, the Groups' joint endorsement reads:

• There is only one U.S. Senate candidate in Arizona who has put his promises in writing, when he signed the Contract from America.
• There is only one U.S. Senate candidate in Arizona who has repeatedly told us to 'vote him out' if he has not kept his promises.
• There is only one U.S. Senate candidate in Arizona who has already given us solid evidence that he will not support amnesty policies, and will make border security and enforcement of illegal immigration laws his first priority. Proof of his promise is in the fact that he led the fight against the McCain-Feingold amnesty bill in 2002.
• There is only one U.S. Senate candidate in Arizona who has already given us solid evidence of his fiscal conservative values when he helped author the Bush tax cuts in 2001 which his opponent opposed.
• Although other Arizona U.S. Senate candidates have sought our support and endorsements, we collectively have chosen the only candidate who has proven leadership ability, and the resilience to overcome obstacles to be our voice in Washington, D.C.

"This Senate candidate is Mr. John D. Hayworth."

"We, as conservative leaders and individuals in Arizona, representing thousands of members in our groups, are looking forward to supporting Mr. Hayworth's campaign in the general election," stated Annette McHugh, leader of the Tea Party Patriots of Glendale, AZ, and member of the Arizona Tea Party Network which has over 4,000 members across Arizona.

The coalition formed just over a week ago for the express purpose of endorsing Mr. Hayworth.

First we learned that the FBI has destroyed its records on Obama's grandfather, now it appears that the State Department has destroyed all records, in the years surrounding Obama's birth, for his Marxist mother, Stanley Ann Dunham.
