Military Tattoo Returns to Inverness

The Tattoo will be the biggest outside of Edinburgh and will hope to rival the Capital's tattoo in grandeur. Picture: TSPL

A MASSIVE military tattoo is returning to the Highlands – and will be the largest hosted outside Edinburgh.

The largest military fort in the UK is to be the spectacular setting for a new Highland Military Tattoo, being staged as part of Homecoming Scotland 2014.

It will take place at Fort George, near Inverness, from 5-7 September.

Detailed planning is already underway for this new addition to the Highland tourism calendar.

Charleston Becomes the Ninth GOP County Organization to Censure Lindsey Graham; Who Will Give Us an Even Ten?

Charleston County Committeeman have joined 8 other South Carolina counties in censuring Lindsey Graham for his betrayal of the Republican Party Platform and the people of South Carolina.

Charleston and the Lowcountry have been considered Graham's base, and this vote is evidence of how thoroughly disgusted a majority of the state's Republicans have become with Graham.

The state's rogue Senator is spending lavishly against six challengers, attempting to persuade Republican voters that he is, despite all evidence to the contrary, a "conservative."  The Charleston censure resolution provides 29 specific examples where Lindsey Graham's votes and policy positions have been "fundamentally inconsistent with the principles of the South Carolina Republican Party."

We expect the June 10 GOP Primary to be the beginning of the end for the Seneca scoundrel.  Bill Connor is extraordinarily gifted, thoughtful, well-prepared and the best choice to serve South Carolina in the United States Senate.  But the most important thing for all principled conservatives to do on June 10 is to vote for a candidate other than Lindsey Graham.  Let's end the embarrassment here and now and have two, solid, conservative votes in the United States Senate.

Thank you, Charleston!

Trey Gowdy Turns Tables and Questions the Lamestream Media; Leaves Them in Stunned Silence

The nation is about to find out what Upstate South Carolinians knew when they ended the career of a weak, incumbent Republican Congressman and sent in his place, with 70 % of the vote, a bulldog by the name of Trey Gowdy!

This is what real Congressional oversight looks like -- and the corrupt regime will soon feel the "terrible swift sword" of  a skilled prosecutor seeking truth and justice for the families of four murdered Americans.

John Kerry and the Dismissal of Legacy

By Wallace Henley

"Most people," opined Secretary of State John Kerry recently, prefer to chunk the heritage of the past enshrined in 2,000-year old documents (like the Bible).

In a speech to the American embassy staff in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Kerry seemed to be fretting about the "different crosscurrents of modernity" stirring across Africa. In his defense, there are many spiritual and cultural "crosscurrents" that do indeed create a deadly tempest. But Kerry's remarks can too easily be generalized to encompass the age-old legacies that make freedom possible everywhere.

A characteristic of our age is disregard or even disdain for history. Deconstructionist academics, infused with nihilism at worst and existentialism at best have trained generations to see history as either meaningless or unimportant. For others, it is a past easily rewritten and squeezed into the profile of modern times.

On This Day in 1940 Winston Churchill is Appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Winston Churchill watches a Boeing Fortress Mk I giving a flying display RAF bomber station, 6 June 1941
On 10 May 1940, hours before the German invasion of France by a lightning advance through the Low Countries, it became clear that, following failure in Norway, the country had no confidence in Chamberlain's prosecution of the war and so Chamberlain resigned. The commonly accepted version of events states that Lord Halifax turned down the post of prime minister because he believed he could not govern effectively as a member of the House of Lords instead of the House of Commons. Although the prime minister does not traditionally advise the King on the former's successor, Chamberlain wanted someone who would command the support of all three major parties in the House of Commons. A meeting between Chamberlain, Halifax, Churchill and David Margesson, the government Chief Whip, led to the recommendation of Churchill, and, as constitutional monarch, George VI asked Churchill to be prime minister. Churchill's first act was to write to Chamberlain to thank him for his support.

Believers Rally After HGTV Cancels Reality Show Starring Christian Twin Brothers Who Oppose Abortion, Homosexuality, Divorce

"This is pure intolerance, discrimination, and bullying toward those who hold to widely held and legitimate views. HGTV's rash actions hold no place in America's rainbow of diversity,"

Christian viewers of the Home & Garden Television (HGTV) are now up in arms after the network announced Wednesday that they have "decided not to move forward" with a reality show called "Flip It Forward" starring conservative Christian twin brothers David and Jason Benham who are openly opposed to abortion, homosexuality and no-fault divorce.

The episodes of the show were expected to reflect the brothers' experience in flipping houses for profit and helping other families do the same "with a healthy dose of sibling rivalry between the brothers along the way," according to MSNBC.

HGTV made the announcement via social media just one day after Right Wing Watch highlighted their views in a report.
