Shakespeare Not Required Reading for Most Literature Grads in US

On this the day on which the greatest writer in the English language was born and died, it is shocking to learn that fewer than 8 percent of the nation's top universities require English majors to take a course focused on the work of William Shakespeare.

It seems hardly possible for any English-speaking person, English major or not, to be truly educated without some familiarity with the sonnets and plays of Shakespeare.  It is truly criminal for colleges and universities to charge outlandish tuition and not require at least one course focused on richest vein of thought and language we possess.

Parents and students, please shop around and ensure that the college or university you choose requires exposure to the great works of the Western canon, and not indoctrination into a Marxist world-view.

Women Entering Religious Life in England and Wales at 25-Year High

Religious orders have become clearer about their own identity, according to Fr Jamison (Photo:Mazur/catholicnews.org.uk)

Forty-five women joined religious orders last year, according to official figures

The number of women entering religious orders in England and Wales has reached a 25-year high, according to new figures.

Forty-five women chose to pursue their vocations last year, the highest number since the 1980s.

Fr Christopher Jamison, director of the National Office of Vocation, said the figure was a “milestone”. Vocations reached their lowest point a decade ago, with just seven women entering religious life in 2004.

Pat Buchanan: Obama’s Republican Collaborators

By Patrick J. Buchanan

The GOP swept to victory in November by declaring that this imperial presidency must be brought to heel, and President Obama’s illicit seizures of Congressional power must end.
That was then. Now is now.

This week, Congress takes up legislation to cede His Majesty full authority to negotiate the largest trade deal in history, the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership, and to surrender Congress’ right to amend any TPP that Obama might bring home.

Why the capitulation? Why would Republicans line up to kiss the royal ring? Is Middle America clamoring for “fast track”? Are blue-collar workers marching in the streets to have Congress grant “Trade Promotion Authority Now!” to Barack Obama?

Catholic Relief Services Vice-President is in a Gay ‘Marriage’, Promotes Gay Agenda

A vice president for Catholic Relief Services is legally married to his homosexual partner—and everyone knows it.

This shocking expose of the bishops' national charity arm is a tragic reminder to all Catholics to avoid all instruments of the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.  The staff of that organization has been thoroughly infiltrated by heterodox enemies of the Catholic Church and the fruit of its work is rotten to the core.
Catholic Relief Sodomite Rick Estridge
Church Militant has learned that an open homosexual is one of the TOP employees at Catholic Relief Services—and he's married to his longtime male partner.

Rick Estridge is Vice President of Overseas Finance at Catholic Relief Services, the United States Bishops' beleaguered anti-poverty program. And according to official marriage records, he is also civilly married to his long-time gay partner William Daniel Goretsas, Jr.

Their wedding license is dated April 4, 2013, issued by the city of Baltimore over two years ago and during the same year Maryland legalized sodomite marriage.
