New Faith-Based Social Network Launches

A new faith-based social network called The Churchyard launched this past week after 2 years of BETA testing. The Churchyard is becoming the fastest growing network among Christians on the internet offering a healthy alternative to facebook and twitter.

"The Churchyard" started as a blog after Hurricane Katrina to keep volunteers and local churches connected," says Jamey Foster, creator. Jamey Foster is a Mississippi Gulf Coast native who has been developing The Churchyard into what it is today. "There is an integrated Bible, Prayer forums, you can upload videos, music, and photos, and share them on facebook with ministries all over the world," explains Foster.
The Churchyard is expected to have 50,000 hits this month in 30 different countries, and it is directly integrated with popular networks facebook and twitter. Foster who built The Churchyard from his home office explains, "Churches and ministries worldwide do not stay connected, the internet is slammed full of garbage and viruses that corrupt minds and views every day. With the information driven world and the impact that the internet has on the youth, why not a social network dedicated to sharing the gospel?"
Foster hopes that churches, ministries, and organization will jump on board and use the features of The Churchyard which will help catapult it among the other top social networks, making a positive impact on the web. The Churchyard is free to join and you can even use your facebook account to join. You can go to The Churchyard at: www.thechurchyard.net
