Church leaders, students and members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregations in Fort Wayne expressed their solidarity with Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades and Catholics of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend to “stand together for religious liberty.”

Gathering April 17 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, just a few blocks from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Fort Wayne, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod held a procession to the cathedral. There they gathered in prayer and song with Catholics and Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades on the plaza in front of the cathedral and presented letters of support and encouragement “as we stand together with (the bishop) on this issue of religious liberty,” noted Dr. Charles Gieschen, academic dean of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, one of two Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod seminaries in the U.S.

With a strong new statement on religious freedom, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has launched a nationwide campaign to protect “our most cherished freedom.”

“It is the first freedom because if we are not free in our conscience and our practice of religion, all other freedoms are fragile,” explain the US bishops in their statement, entitled Our First, Most Cherished Freedom. The USCCB statement, lengthy and strongly worded, signals the beginning of a major drive by the hierarchy to alert Americans to current threats to religious liberty.

At the tail end of his 90 minute meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev Monday, President Obama said that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with controversial issues such as missile defense, but incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to give him “space.”

The exchange was picked up by microphones as reporters were let into the room for remarks by the two leaders.

The exchange:

President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.

President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…

President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.

President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

When asked to explain what President Obama meant, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications Ben Rhodes told ABC News that there is room for the U.S. and Russia to reach an accommodation, but “there is a lot of rhetoric around this issue — there always is — in both countries.

A senior administration official tells ABC News: “this is a political year in which the Russians just had an election, we’re about to have a presidential and congressional elections — this is not the kind of year in which we’re going to resolve incredibly complicated issue like this. So there’s an advantage to pulling back and letting the technical experts work on this as the president has been saying.”

The White House announced plans on Monday to help "Arab Spring" countries swept by revolutions with more than $800 million in economic aid, while maintaining U.S. military aid to Egypt.

In his annual budget message to Congress, President Barack Obama asked that military aid to Egypt be kept at the level of recent years -- $1.3 billion -- despite a crisis triggered by an Egyptian probe targeting American democracy activists.

The proposals are part of Obama's budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.

Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The "core budget" for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said.

Most of the economic aid for the Arab Spring countries -- $770 million -- would go to establish a new "Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund," the president said in his budget plan.

Analysts said it was difficult to tell how much of the proposal was actually new money.

"As presented it's very difficult to determine if the Arab spring fund is new wine in new bottles or old wine in new bottles," said John Norris, a former U.S. foreign aid worker now at the Center for American Progress.

The Middle East and North Africa Incentive fund "will provide incentives for long-term economic, political, and trade reforms to countries in transition -- and to countries prepared to make reforms proactively," the White House budget document said.

The proposal said this approach "expands our bilateral economic support in countries such as Tunisia and Yemen, where transitions are already underway."

It would also build on other programs for the area, including up to $2 billion in regional Overseas Private Investment Corporation financing, up to $1 billion in debt swaps for Egypt, and approximately $500 million in existing funds re-allocated to respond to the region last year, the budget document said.

It did not say how the Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund would be divided between countries, or give any other details of the plan.

Egypt has long been among the top recipients of U.S. aid, getting about $1.6 billion annually, mostly in military assistance. In fiscal 2012, $250 million of aid approved for Egypt was economic; $1.3 billion was military and there was a $60 million "enterprise fund" approved by Congress.

No U.S. assistance is moving to Egypt at the moment, U.S. lawmakers and their aides said last week. Some legislators favor cutting off aid to Egypt entirely if it does not drop accusations against American democracy activists and lift a travel ban on them.

Obama continued the practice of putting proposed foreign assistance for war zones in a separate account. This account, known as the "Overseas Contingency Operations," includes $8.2 billion for the State Department and foreign aid.

It includes $3.3 billion for Afghanistan, $1 billion for Pakistan, and $4 billion for Iraq, where U.S. troops have left the country but the State Department has picked up some of their functions such as police training.

Obama's "Accomodation" is a Cynical Distinction Without a Difference

The so called "accommodation" offered people of faith by the Obama regime is a distinction without a difference.  It is a cynical effort to defuse growing national resistance with semantic window-dressing.  Saying that insurance companies will be mandated to provide abortifacients and contraceptives as part of the insurance packages all employers will have to chose from, makes no ethical difference.  

As president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan has decided to see the new regulatory mandate before judging it.  However, on the basis of what Obama and the vengeful, excommunicated Catholic, Kathleen Sebelius, have had to say about it, it should be met with rejection and renewed determination to oppose the Obama regime's trampling of conscience rights and religious liberty.

We would suggest to the American Catholic bishops that they need to stand up for the conscience rights of all Americans, not merely their own institutions.  No insurance company, employer or individual should be compelled by their government to purchase or do anything in violation of their conscience.  Obamacare is a carefully calculated path to an oppressive, jack-booted, police state.  It must be repealed root and stem.  The Obama-Sebelius trampling of religious liberty offers patriots an opportunity to defend our country in a dark hour, restore Constitutional government and ensure that we never again raise up to the highest office in the land an enemy of God-given rights.

In a January visit to the Vatican, American bishops were warned by Benedict XVI that “radical secularism” posed “grave threats” to their Catholic faith. Your religious freedom is being circumscribed, said the pope. The U.S. government may seek to force you to collaborate in what are “intrinsically evil practices.”

No sooner had the bishops returned home than President Obama instructed them that, under Obamacare, all Catholic schools, hospitals, orphanages, nursing homes and homeless shelters must provide the “morning after” pill, contraceptives and sterilizations for all employees, Catholic and non-Catholic alike.

Polls Show Obama Heading For A LANDSLIDE Defeat

Every month there are more signs pointing to a landslide loss for Barack Obama and his Democrat Party. Contrary to the fearful tormented “feelings” of those who despise Obama but are “sure” he will be reelected, he won’t be reelected.

The numbers against Obama are piling up. The charges that he is not in fact eligible to be our president are beginning to get traction and could conceivably lead to continued legal problems. Even impeachment for his blatant violation of the Georgia judge’s legal order to appear must now be considered.

In Georgia Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss who was forced into a runoff because he failed to get 50% cruised to a 58/42 victory just a month later when Obama’s voting children and minorities decided to stay home. As it turned out, this wasn’t a blip on our screens. It was a sign of things to come.

In 2009 the Democrats were publicly CERTAIN things would turn around and talked tough about “running the table” predicting they would win all three of the closely watched elections. They lost both gubernatorial races (Virginia and New Jersey) and won a rare three way House special election in New York.

Obama’s voting children and minorities stayed home again.

In 2010 the TEA party movement appeared and marched toward the polls, but Obama’s supporters stayed home again and watched Republicans picked up 65 House and 6 Senate seats.

In 2011 the few elections held around the country showed the trend was growing deeper and taking hold across all regions (except the North) and the majority of voting blocks.

Now we hear Rasmussen report that while 35.9% call themselves Republicans a record low (32.5%) self- identify as Democrats.

If Barack Obama gets kicked off even a few state ballots it will send a clear message to down ballot Democrats that they will have to spend all their time defending him rather than campaigning.

Couple this with a 26 point voter enthusiasm edge for Republicans and we are seeing a landslide developing. What else could we call it?

Catholic Church Rejects Surrender Terms from Obama

It gives us no pleasure that at long last the institutional Church and our coreligionists are finally seeing Obama and his regime as a manifestation of the pure evil that they are ... an evil that can only be overcome with solidarity, resistance and political action that is rooted in prayer and fasting.  There was a reason we chose to post this work from Chopin on Inauguration Day, 2009.  If Obama's war on and persecution of the Catholic Church opens the eyes of fools, and causes the majority of Catholics who voted for Obama to be more discerning and vote more prayerfully in the future, our Church and nation will be far better off.

My Catholic priest, Father Larry Swink, delivered a homily on Sunday that I told him would make headlines. In the toughest sermon I have ever heard from a pulpit, he attacked the Obama Administration as evil, even demonic, and warned of religious persecution ahead. What was also newsworthy about the sermon was that he cited The Washington Post in agreement—not on the subject of the Obama Administration being evil, but on the matter of its abridgment of the constitutional right to freedom of religion. 

What is happening is extraordinary and unprecedented. The Catholic Church is in open revolt against the Obama Administration, with Fr. Swink noting from the pulpit that priests across the archdiocese were joining the call on Sunday to rally Catholics to resistance against the U.S. Government. He said we are entering a time of religious persecution and that Catholics and others will have to make a final decision about which side they are on.

The younger Mr Paul, who like his father is a fierce advocate of civil liberties, was reportedly held at Nashville International Airport by agents from the Transport Security Administration (TSA), an agency he has repeatedly criticised for encroaching on Americans' freedoms.

A spokeswoman for the Kentucky Senator said he was being held "indefinitely" after he set off an alarm in an image scanner used at the airport's security check point.

The 49-year-old reportedly told agents that there was a fault in the machine and refused to submit to a physical search.

According to prosecutors, Megaupload illegally cheated copyright holders out of $500m in revenue as part of a criminal enterprise spanning five years.

A lawyer for Megaupload told the Guardian it would "vigorously" defend itself against the charges, dismissing the criminal action as "a civil case in disguise".

News of the indictment – being framed as one of the biggest copyright cases in US history – came a day after major internet firms held a 24-hour protest over proposed anti-piracy laws.

I stand here in abject stupefaction.  The so-called "right" or "Tea Party" in this republic is being so thoroughly rolled and defeated that I am struggling to come up with an adequate violent submission metaphor that does not involve prison rape . . . and they honesty think that they're "winning."  Really?  You call this winning?

• - Obama gets over $2 Trillion to spend before the 2012 election
• - There are no real spending cuts
• - There is a massive tax increase effective January 1, 2013

Obama is going to be handed something in excess of $2 Trillion -- and he has made it perfectly clear that he will spend every penny of it before the November 2012 election.  That's why he kept saying, " . . . so we don't have to do this again", meaning raise the debt ceiling again.  The debt ceiling would only need to be raised if all of the money had been spent.  Therefore, he has stated very clearly that he will spend every penny of any debt ceiling increase.  He is going to burn through $2 Trillion-plus in the next sixteen months.  This was the Obama regime's plan from day one.  Geithner appeared before Congress in early May and told them this in no uncertain terms.  This outcome has been a known quantity all along.
