Chad Connelly Sides with Democrats in Dismissing SCGOP Lawsuit

Chad Connelly has once again come to the defense of the Establishment and dismissed a lawsuit that would protect the integrity of Republican primaries.  He knows that RINO Lindsey Graham's only hope of surviving a Republican primary depends on large numbers of Democrats voting in a Republican primary.  And so he sides with Democrats who have the closest thing possible to a Democrat in Lindsey Graham.  

Does the national Republican Party really think that an unprincipled hack, willing to betray the interests of Republicans in South Carolina and the conservative movement, is now going to appeal to Evangelical voters?  Next year, when conservatives across South Carolina rid themselves of Graham, it will be a loud shot across the bow of the GOP Establishment.  Conservatives have had enough of their betrayals and quislings like Connelly.  The TEA Party movement, regarded by Connelly as "anarchists" and "terrorists," will either take over the Republican Party or it will cease to exist.

On Friday, the day before SCGOP Chairman Chad Connelly resigned at the state executive meeting, Connelly dismissed a lawsuit that would prevent Democrats from voting in Republican primaries. SEE DOCUMENT HERE

But what authority did Connelly have to dismiss the lawsuit? Did the state executive committeemen vote to approve the dismissal?

According to SCGOP state executive committeeman Jim Lee, there was no written documentation given to leadership before the meeting or during the meeting, notifying them that the lawsuit was dismissed.

Another state GOP officer confirmed that the dismissal of the lawsuit was not mentioned at meeting, “this was not even discussed by the SCGOP and it is the first time I heard about it.”

Lindsey Graham Fails to Understand the US Constitution

Graham’s opponent, Richard Cash, states Snowden had a duty to expose NSA scandal

ANDERSON, SC - Senator Graham’s perspective regarding the unconstitutional behavior of the US Government in searching through the phone records of US citizens is off base. Senator Graham has stated he is “glad” that the Obama administration has undertaken massive spying on American citizens.

In contrast, South Carolina businessman Richard Cash, Graham’s only declared primary opponent, asks, “How would you feel if a government agent showed up at your home once a month and asked to study your phone bill to see who you have been talking to and how often and for how long? In light of the fourth amendment and the lack of probable cause, it is clearly unconstitutional on the face of it.”

To make matters worse, Senator Graham thinks the wrongdoer is not the government, but the whistle blower. Senator Graham has stated, “I view Mr. Snowdens’ actions not as one of patriotism, but potentially a felony. I hope we follow him to the ends of the earth to bring him to justice.”

According to Cash, those comments are uncalled for and a distraction from the constitutional issue at hand. Cash stated, “Senator Graham has shown little regard for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The government has overstepped its bounds by targeting law abiding citizens.”

Cash went on to say, “Senator Graham’s comments are over the top. Perhaps a whistle blower such as Mr. Snowden is simply doing his duty and trying to uphold the Constitution. The central issue remains, however, the illegal government operation that led to this embarrassing revelation.”

Richard is a graduate of Furman University with a degree in Economics and Business Administration.  He has worked professionally as a computer programmer and analyst, served full time as a pro-life missionary, and volunteered as a youth coach and athletic director.  He is the founder and owner of two small businesses, which he has operated for the past 14 years.  Richard and Marcia have been married for 28 years.  In 2010, Richard ran for US Congress in the third district.  After winning the primary over a field of 6 candidates, he narrowly lost a runoff to Rep. We haven't settled on a candidate yet; we'll support the conservative with the best chance of ridding South Carolina of its rogue and treasonous Senator, Lindsey Graham.  But there is no question, Richard Cash would make a superb United States Senator and would give South Carolinians two thoughtful and principled conservative votes in the United States Senate. 

 

Like any good candidate, Richard Cash needs to introduce himself to Republican voters throughout our state, but in the end the Republican Primary will be a referendum on the Senate career of Lindsey Graham.  We have commented on its many outrageous highlights; and we hope Richard Cash will speak no less frankly and boldly about Graham's unconscionable betrayal of the people of South Carolina.  The candidate who does that will be elected to the United States Senate in 2014, and what a great day that will be.

 

Grifters for "Ethics Reform" - Nikki Haley's Assault on Senator Bright

Governor Nikki Haley came to the Upstate this past week to bash Spartanburg's fiscal and social conservative State Senator, Lee Bright, for his refusal to sign-on to the fraudulently misnamed "Ethics Reform" legislation. 

Nikki Haley as an advocate for ethics reform is a bit like Barack Hussein Obama pushing the cause for small, frugal and accountable government or the League of Prostitutes for Purity.  Politics is the second oldest profession, but Haley's assault on Senator Bright is audacious, even for her.

Senator Bright made clear that he would not support so-called "ethics reform" legislation until he could get a vote on the nullification of Obamacare.  As a principled conservative he is also right to oppose this misnamed, retrograde legislation because it does anything but advance ethical, transparent and good government in our state.  In fact, it would shield legislators from criminal prosecution for ethical violations.  The Spartanburg TEA Party has summarized here what they have aptly called a "crap bill."

Perhaps Haley's assault on Senator Bright is just the Establishment's first strike on a solid conservative with a real chance of defeating Senator Lindsey Graham next year in a GOP primary.  If that was her intent, we expect Boss Connelly, choreographer of the recent state GOP infomercial, and Curtis Loftis, Mitt Romney's SC chairman,  will be following in her wake.

We can well understand Governor Haley's personal interest in shielding corrupt politicians from criminal prosecution, but the people of South Carolina should not be fooled by Nikki Haley, the most ethically challenged of all South Carolina politicians.

Lindsey Graham Enshrined In The G.O.P. Hall Of Shame

Have you heard that scientists are going to start using lawyers and politicians instead of rats for laboratory experiments? Apparently, this keeps the scientists from becoming too attached to their subjects . . . and there are simply some things even a rat won’t do.

While it’s true that every member of The Strident Conservative G.O.P. Hall of Shame is worse than a rat when it comes to standing up for Conservative values, our newest member—who happens to be a lawyer and a politician—proves that he is second to none.

First elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002, Lindsey Graham (R-ino SC) has a history of playing a “little loose” with his commitment to Conservative values in areas such as: smaller government, immigration reform, global warming, and taxes. However, the intensity of his anti-Conservative behavior since his reelection in 2008 is cause for great concern.

In 2009, Graham co-sponsored a letter to President Obama along with John Kerry and Joe Lieberman announcing their commitment to passing a climate change bill and outlining its framework. Graham was the likely sponsor of the final bill. The Senators identified a green economy, clean air, energy independence, consumer protection, increasing nuclear power and regulating the world’s carbon market as the key features to a successful climate change bill.

Gee, sounds more like a letter from Obama, not to him.

Due to changing priorities by Democrats at the time, Graham withdrew his support for the climate bill, leaving its passage in doubt. However, he removed all doubt about the bill in June 2010.

“The science about global warming has changed. I think they’ve oversold this stuff, quite frankly. I think they’ve been alarmist and the science is in question. The whole movement has taken a giant step backward.”

He also stated that he planned to vote against the climate bill that he had originally co-sponsored, citing further restriction of offshore drilling added to the bill and the bill’s impact on transportation. Wow . . . what conviction. No, really. What conviction?

Graham had another change of heart flip-flop in 2010. In the summer of that year, Graham declared that the T.E.A. Party would die out before the fall elections.

New Video Captures Lindsey Graham Saying South Carolinians Don't Want Jobs While Unemployed Workers Tell Graham He's Out Of Touch

Despite More Than 300,000 South Carolinians Unemployed or Underemployed, Senator Graham Is Pushing For Millions More Immigrant Workers and Amnesty  

Dennis Michael Lynch , an independent documentary filmmaker based in Long Island, NY, has released a new, controversial documentary short film. The short film was recently shot in South Carolina at job fairs and unemployment lines and is a preview of a longer film Lynch plans to release shortly. The film juxtaposes comments of unemployed South Carolinians standing in unemployment lines with video of Senator Lindsey Graham saying there's a labor shortage in his state and that he needs to increase immigration to fill jobs. 

"Lindsey Graham has obviously been spending way too much time with cheap labor corporate lobbyists in Washington who want to bring in more foreign workers and hold American wages down," commented Roy Beck , president and founder of NumbersUSA. "He ought to try spending some time with South Carolinians standing in unemployment lines. Maybe then he wouldn't be so out of touch with the jobs crisis in his own backyard."

In December, the unemployment rate in South Carolina was 8.6%, significantly above the national average. More than 300,000 South Carolinians are unemployed or underemployed. Many have simply given up looking for jobs.

Last Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul rose on the Senate floor to declare a filibuster and pledge he would not sit down until either he could speak no longer or got an answer to his question about Barack Obama’s war powers.

Does the president, Paul demanded to know, in the absence of an imminent threat, have the right to order U.S. citizens killed by drone strike on U.S. soil?

By the time he sat down, 13 hours later, Paul had advanced to the front rank of candidates for 2016, and established himself as a foreign policy leader whose views must be consulted equally with those of John McCain.

We won't be fooled again by any member of this family.  Some have decried the Bush "vision thing;" but it's not that they lack vision, it is just a very different vision from that of most conservatives in the Republican Party.  That big-government, big-spending, "compassionate conservatism" gave us the Marxist immigrant currently occupying the White House.  On social issues, too, it is no accident that all the Bush women are pro-abortion and pro-same-sex "marriage."  The male politicians in the family know they would not be viable in the GOP with such views, so the wives and daughters reassure the Establishment and media by sharing the family's real views.

Jeb is probably the best of the Bush bunch, but it's no new Bushes for us!

Supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants has earned South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham the opposition of NumbersUSA , a border security group that began a statewide radio ad campaign against Senator Graham on Tuesday, saying television ads would follow today.

Graham, is a member of the Senate “gang of eight,” a bipartisan group pushing for a comprehensive immigration “reform” bill that includes a “path to citizenship” or amnesty for those who came to this country illegally.

According to NewsMax, although Graham is the first member of the “gang of eight” to be targeted, NumbersUSA says it plans to run negative ads about the other seven members of the group: Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., and Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo.

NumbersUSA, which believes a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants would only draw more illegal immigrants to the U.S., plans to spend $150,000 on its anti-Graham ad campaign, says NewsMax.

Lindsey Graham Celebrates Obama's Drone Kills

 “Sometimes you hit innocent people, and I hate that, (but I've got another election coming up!)"

Lindsey Graham has announced that those killed by remote control drone attacks in America's undeclared wars numbers about 4700.  The Senator told the Easley, SC Rotary Club “Sometimes you hit innocent people, and I hate that, but we’re at war, and we’ve taken out some very senior members of Al-Qaeda.”  

Did anyone think to ask when Congress declared this war?

It is astonishing that a United States Senator would celebrate the remote control killing of anyone, particularly since he acknowledges that innocent civilians are included in Obama's kill-count.  But Senator Graham has a special need to macho-up every six years and pretend that he is a manly conservative.  He wants to distract us from those pesky recorded votes and loony-left statements about nationalizing the banks, fingerprinting law-abiding citizens, amnesty for illegal invaders, and his verbal assaults on the TEA Party and Glenn Beck, while "reaching across the aisle to play footsie with Chuck Schumer and the Senate's other liberal Dems.   

Sometime between now and November 2014 watch for Grahamnesty, with club in hand, to join in a baby seal hunt.

In another time, Grahamnesty's pre-election posturing and bombast might be seen as amusing.  Unfortunately, because of his support for two Marxists on the Supreme Court and an administration intent on destroying and subverting the United States, every day Lindsey Graham remains in the United States Senate is a tragedy and brings shame on all South Carolinians.

Graham to Commend Obama for Drone Murders

 As in so many areas of policy, when it comes to indiscriminate, remote control killing from 30,000 feet - even the murder of women and children - Obama and Lindsey Graham see eye-to-eye.  

Graham thinks only liberals and libertarians oppose America acting as an international executioner.  But we've never been accused of being either. Call us old fashioned, but some conservatives cling to old ideas, such as observing the United States Constitution and Congress actually declaring war before sending troops or drones out to kill anyone.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will offer a resolution next week commending President Barack Obama’s use of drones and the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki.

“Every member of Congress needs to get on board,” Graham said. “It’s not fair to the president to let him, leave him out there alone quite frankly. He’s getting hit from libertarians and the left.

“I think the middle of America understands why you would want a drone program to go after a person like Anwar al-Awlaki,” Graham added.

The newest discussions about drones and al-Awlaki comes after the White House sent a memo to members of Congress explaining the reasoning behind their killing of an American citizen who was working for Al Qaeda.

Graham said the resolution will allow for a debate about who the nation is at war with and what proper action during times of war is.

“The process of being targeted I think is legal, quite frankly laborious and should reside in the commander in chief to determine who an enemy combatant is and what kind of force to use,” Graham told reporters on Wednesday.

Graham said judges should not be the ones to decide individual cases of enemy combatants and the courts would uphold the president’s ability to decide.

“If this ever goes to court I guarantee you it will be a slam dunk support of what the administration is doing. I think one of the highlights of President Obama’s first term and the beginning of his second term is the way he’s been able to use drones against terrorists,” Graham said.

Senator Lee Bright Considers Primary Challenge to Lindsey Graham

We are delighted that conservative and well-respected Senator Lee Bright is considering a primary challenge to South Carolina's traitorous Senator, Lindsey Graham.  Just about any political figure in South Carolina would be an improvement over John McCain's shoeshine boy, and all that we know about Senator Bright suggests that he is a principled, movement conservative in the mold of Senator Jim DeMint.  We'd like to see who enters the race before committing.  We know of a very gifted former county chairman who would make a superb United States Senator.  But one thing is for certain -- we will enthusiastically support the conservative in the race with the best chance of defeating the disgraceful quisling who supports so much that South Carolinians oppose.

Senator Graham may have stockpiled millions for the race, but he is a known quantity and we won't be fooled again by hollow, pre-election, conservative rhetoric and saber-rattling.  South Carolina needs two votes in the United States Senate, not one cancelling out the other.

It looked on Friday as if Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., might have avoided a primary in 2014, as one of the only remaining potential challengers, state Sen. Tom Davis, decided to take a pass on the Senate race. But on Monday, state Sen. Lee Bright, a fiscal conservative who was recently supported by former Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, for reelection, announced that he is seriously looking at the race.

Bright told Hotline On Call that while Graham did "a wonderful job" during his first six years in Congress, the Republican has moderated his views since he moved to the Senate. "I just don't feel like he represents the interests of South Carolina," Bright said, citing Graham's position on immigration and climate change.

Bright said that he is not yet "100 percent certain" that he'll get into the race, but felt the need to step up after Davis, the entire congressional delegation and a host of other potential challengers indicated that they would not run against Graham. Bright said he is speaking to Republicans throughout the state, including major donors and grassroots groups who would help knock on doors, and that he would made a decision in the next 60 to 90 days.

The GOP's Amnesty Caucus Raises the White Flag

On Monday, Sens. John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake and Marco Rubio emerged with an offer of a Republican surrender to Barack Obama.
We will accept amnesty for 11 million illegal aliens, said the four, but you must get serious about securing the border against yet another invasion. Only after an independent commission agrees the border has been secured will the 11 million be given green cards and put on a path to citizenship.

Tim Scott to Fill DeMint Senate Seat

The appointment of Representative Tim Scott to fill Senator Jim DeMint's Senate seat is the best possible appointment for many reasons.  While Scott does not have the most conservative voting record among our South Carolina Congressional delegation, he is a solid conservative whose vote will cancel out rogue Senator Lindsey Graham.  He is also less likely than others on the "short list" to draw a primary opponent in 2014, forcing the strongest Senator-wannabe's to consider a primary challenge to Lindsey Graham.  And best of all, Haley didn't appoint herself.

Congratulations, Congressman Scott, we wish you great success and hope you will continue to "fight the good fight" so ably and nobly fought by Senator DeMint.

S.C. Gov. Haley names Scott to DeMint’s Senate seat

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley on Monday named Rep. Tim Scott to replace the resigning Republican Sen. Jim DeMint. 

Mrs. Haley, who announced her decision at an early afternoon news conference at the state Capitol in Columbia, said Mr. Scott’s background as a entrepreneur will serve South Carolina well. 

“He earned this,” she said.

The Winter of Conservative Discontent

As the white flag rises above Republican redoubts, offering a surrender on taxes, the mind goes back to what seemed a worse time for conservatives: December 1964.

Barry Goldwater had suffered a defeat not seen since Alf Landon. Republicans held less than one-third of the House and Senate and only 17 governorships. The Warren Court was remaking America.

In the arts, academic and entertainment communities, and national press corps, conservatives were rarely seen or heard. It was Liberalism's Hour, with America awash in misty memories of Camelot and great expectations of the Great Society to come in 1965.

Chad! Connelly, South Carolina GOP Chairman, has told The Hill newspaper that we South Carolinians are "thrilled and delighted that Sen. Graham has taken such a lead role on Benghazi."  The newspaper reports "Connelly acknowledged Graham had received some criticism in local Republican circles for his previous positions but said that Graham has been a 'shining rock star in foreign policy of late,' an effort that is helping boost his profile among conservatives."

Connelly also told The Hill that Graham's "name is on people's minds and they're talking great about him. If they had a problem with him, I would say it's been greatly reduced," 

As a matter of fact, we find it astonishing that South Carolina's Republican chairman would be boosting our RINO US Senator even before anyone has announced his or her candidacy for the 2014 race.  But what is more astonishing is the reference to Graham's extremely unpopular previous positions:

• Has Senator Graham repudiated or apologized for calling his constituents "racists"?  

• Has he reversed his support for amnesty for illegal aliens?  

• Has he said his remarks calling for the nationalization of US banks were inappropriate?  

• Has he said he was mistaken in joining filibusters against GOP-backed tort reform legislation?  

• Does he regret lending support to cap and trade legislation and the massive increase in taxes that would entail?

• Has Graham ever voiced regret for supporting TARP and its resulting debt and expansion of the federal government?  

• Has Graham repudiated his support for the fingerprinting and imposition of ID cards for law-abiding Americans?  

• Has he expressed any remorse over providing the  key committee votes ensuring the appointment of two Marxists to the US Supreme Court?  

• Is there any undeclared war or military intervention in the last twenty years that Graham has not enthusiastically supported?

• And just this past weekend, Graham announced that he will not honor his pledge to Americans for Tax Reform to oppose any new tax increases.

Is the Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party so comfortable with the status quo and so wedded to power that he supports an incumbent who is opposed by the Club for Growth, who is regarded as the worst US Senator, and the weakest link who not only supports Obama on critical issues, but has provided the key vote in implementing Obama's planned destruction of America?   Is this what the Republican Party of South Carolina has come to -- Amway's own Monty Hall, who is willing to make a deal with Stephen Colbert for sponsorship of the South Carolina Republican Primary - will support any incumbent as long as he calls himself a "Republican."

It is this lack of principle, this quest for power at all costs, that accounts for millions of conservative Republicans staying home or voting for third party candidates this past Election Day.  God help America if the only alternative to determined Marxists is "the stupid party."  No Chad!, South Carolinians are not as ignorant as you seem to think.  We are not about to forget a 10 year betrayal because of a pre-election swing to the right and some jingoistic saber-rattling.

At his news conference Wednesday, President Barack Obama postured as the young Galahad striding out onto the schoolyard to stop a pair of bullies from beating up a girl.

Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham had charged U.N. Amb. Susan Rice with misleading the nation when, five days after the Benghazi attack in which Amb. Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed, she appeared on five TV shows to say it had all resulted from a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Muslim video.

At a breakfast meeting today in Washington, D.C., Chris Chocola, President of the influential conservative non-profit Club for Growth named South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham as a top target for the group in 2014 elections.

According to Politico, Chocola said, "Graham has not fared well on our score card. But we’ll see what the race is…There’s interest beyond our group in that race.”
